Booze, Brothels and the Bard walking tour with Blue Badge guide Laurence
Details
A FUN WALKING TOUR THROUGH ONE OF LONDON'S HIPPEST DISTRICTS
Meet 11-11.15 @ Costa Coffee 13 New Bridge Street EC4 - across the road from Blackfriars Underground Station
Sometimes referred to as Shakespeare's playground with its pubs, bear-baiting ring and theatres, this area is used to be London's red-light district in the Medieval and Tudor periods, alongside which the watermen (the taxi drivers of those days) plied their trade - not always honestly! Much cleaned up today, it's still an exciting area of entertainment, foodie delights and great pubs.
As for red lights.....well...... i wouldn't know about that!
We finish near Borough Market with tons of foodie stalls there's also an authentic Elizabethan tavern for those who want a pub lunch.
Guided walk £10 payable on the day
