AN EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE TOUR OF TWO TEMPLE PLACE & THE JOHN RUSKIN EXHIBITION

AN EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE TOUR OF TWO TEMPLE PLACE & THE JOHN RUSKIN EXHIBITION

Two Temple Palace is a stunning gothic-style 19th century mysterious mansion tucked out of sight and hidden in a back street off the Strand.

Originally called Astor House, this mini-palace was once owned by the famously wealthy William Waldorf, The Viscount Astor, and has been described as ‘London’s answer to Downton Abbey’!

It is extremely culturally, artistically and architecturally valuable boasting the most magnificent staircase, beautiful stained glass, and with immense tapestries and statues in its’ imposing rooms. It is now owned by The Bulldog Trust, an arts charity, surviving only thanks to it being one of London’s most exclusive party venues.

Not usually open to the public I have secured for us an exclusive guided visit focusing on its’ history and architecture.

At the moment there is also a special exhibition on ‘John Ruskin (1819-1900): The Power of Seeing’. He devoted his life to the pursuit of knowledge and fundamentally wanted to make Britain a better place to live.

A staunch advocate of life-long-learning and the importance of observation, he believed progress could be made by making arts, books and cultural treasures available to all. This is a lucky opportunity to view his collection.

Cost £20 (includes obligatory donation to the Bulldog Trust for the guided visit & MeetUp fee). Admission to the exhibition is free and is self guided.

We will be at liberty to stay on to enjoy the exhibition as Wednesday is a late night until 9pm.

There is also a café on site to enjoy refreshments before or after the tour.

Places are limited and payment is in advance only please.
