A FUN RIVER DAY OUT AT RUNNYMEDE FRIDAY 13TH JULY - more than just the site of the signing of the Magna Carta

A FUN RIVER DAY OUT AT RUNNYMEDE FRIDAY 13TH JULY - more than just the site of the signing of the Magna Carta

Runnymede makes for a memorable day out in the English countryside.

The beautiful riverside site of the sealing of the Magna Carta is packed with stories and adventures and its’ diverse natural landscapes provide a backdrop for it’s unique history; which includes monuments commemorating Magna Carta and JFK and newly commissioned sculptures and architectural artworks.

I will guide you around these national treasures combined with a walk around the woodlands & meadows, alongside the River Thames and culminating in a traditional English tearoom offering a host of treats.

Runnymede is situated on the Thames in Surrey between Staines and Windsor and is rather isolated in terms of transport. Egham is the nearest station so I am proposing we meet there. The journey time on Southwestern trains is approximately 40 minutes from Waterloo with at least two trains an hour. From the station we will then travel collectively in a taxi to the site at Runnymede (this cab fare is included in the cost of the walk).
