DESCRIPTION

Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter is also a national treasure. It contains the best and most extensive surviving group of Victorian buildings devoted to the manufacture of jewellery in Europe, and is a place of unique character.

How about we combine the two for a memorable day trip and possibly fill our shopping bags?

Take a train from Euston and arrive at Birmingham New Street station late morning for a guided walking tour with a blue badge guide who will lead us around the historic Jewellery Quarter, pointing out ‘gems’ along the way.

After a lunch break in a local hostelry we will have an opportunity to browse the independent shops and take in the traditional Christmas Market that straddles the main town square. It has a large range of traditional goods and gifts and a selection of tempting food and drink.

We could end the day on pretzels, bratwursts, and roasted chestnuts washed down with gluhwein or tasty hot chocolate!

This is flexible as the market is very near to the station and you are free to leave as you wish after 16.00
