3 boroughs walk Penge East Station to Grove Park Station
Come with me on a walk that will involve woodland, country paths, a nature reserve, lunch ,and a visit to Desmond tutus peace garden. {image shown }
The cost of this meet up is £10 which includes lunch at the Ringway Community Centre.
We will meet outside Penge East Station at 10.45am am where at 11am we will go to a local cafe for a hot drink.
After our hot drink we will start our walk following the capital ring, and make our way to Beckenham Place Park, and pick up the green chain, and will walk through woodland and nature trails and cross the railway bridge where Edith Nesbitt got her inspiration to write her famous book The Railway Children.
From there we will walk around the nature reserve and make our way to the Ringway centre where we will have lunch around 2 pm, {included in the £10 cost is soup and bread or quiche and salad, a hot drink and a piece of cake}.
After lunch we will make our way to Desmond Tutu,s Peace Garden, and dependent on time either re join the Green Chain, and walk to Eltham Station and The Tudor Barn for a drink {2 miles } or go to the Baring Hall which is opposite Grove Park Station less than 5 minutes away.
Trains run to London Stations From Eltham and Grove Park Stations. If you walk slow, or have a knee problem, this walk is not for you.
Walking distance approx 6.5 miles
It is advisable to wear walking boots, as some of the paths can get muddy.
