Start the week with Di-Historic and modern Spitalfields and Brick Lane

As this is proving so popular and I cannot increase the numbers on the original walk I am scheduling two more, slightly re arranged events.

11:30 Meet at Wetherspoons pub Hamilton Hall for coffee and meet and greet.

12:00 We will walk historic Spitalfields and the surrounding area visiting Dennis Severs’ House at 18 Folgate Street, more than just a time capsule as it is both a breathtaking and an intimate portrait of the lives of a family of Huguenot silk-weavers from 1724 to the dawn of the 20th Century. As you follow their fortunes through the generations, the sights, smells and sounds of the house take you into their lives. It was Dennis Severs’ intention that as you enter his house it is as if you have passed through the surface of a painting, exploring with your senses and imagination a meticulously crafted 18th Century world.

Then to Spitalfield market for lunch, there are a variety of well known outlets as well as street food on offer.

After lunch we can explore Hawksmoor's Christ Church and Brick lane returning to Spitalfield market and Liverpool St station for your journey home.

There will be a charge of £5 for the meet up fee, payable on the day. Entrance to the House is £10 or £5, please alter your rsvp if you find you cannot attend on the day.
