Tastes of Asia. Malaysian lunch at Tukdin, Bayswater

Asian cuisine offers the most diverse, exciting, healthy and tasty food on the planet. I am fortunate to have lived in Singapore and travelled throughout Asia enjoying the local food. Now that I have returned to London, my home town, I am on a mission to locate restaurants that serve true Asian food; seeking out places which recreate the authentic tastes of that fascinating continent.

Please join me on the second and fourth Sunday of each month for a genuine Asian lunch.

We stated in February by enjoying the refined delicate tastes of Vietnam.  We will now encounter traditional Malay cooking at Tukdin.  A modest restaurant which serves bold complex dishes, skilfully created by balancing the flavours of cinnamon, pepper, chilli and ginger with the sweetness of gula melaka and the mellowness of the pandan leaves.

Tukdin is located at 41 Craven Road, W2 3BX.  The nearest tube stations are Bayswater and Paddington.

The cost is as incurred for individual lunch orders, plus a £7 event fee which is payable upon arrival.

Tukdin does not serve alcohol, so after lunch you might like to join me for a stroll to Little Venice and a drink in the Warwick Castle on Warwick Place, W9 2PX.
