History cafe on the Bishopsgate area of London with Paul

Paul Sinclair, 45+ Not Grumpy historian will be taking us around the eastern most part of the City of London which escaped the Great Fire and we’ll consider some of the nine churches that date back to medieval times. We’ll see the site of Crosby Hall, one of London’s finest homes; featured in Shakespeare’s Richard III, it’s still in London but now elsewhere. We’ll visit where some of Shakespeare’s plays were performed before the Globe, the first home of the East India Company and the remains of a 12th century priory.

We ask that everyone is logged in to the virtual cafe by 18:35 for a prompt start.

As you all know, Paul is a fun, interesting and knowledgeable raconteur. He'll be presenting for around 40 minutes London, supported by illustrations and photographs.

At about 19.15, Paul will ask for questions and we will have time to chat with him before the session ends.

WHEN SHOULD I JOIN?

Please join as promptly as possible from about 6.25 so Paul can make a prompt start at 6.35. However, latecomers are still welcome
