A Vineyard Visit and an Open Air Art Trail With Lits

The link between wine and art has been respected for centuries so let us spend an exhilarating day appreciating both in our own Kent countryside.

I propose we start our day by meeting at St Pancras and taking the train to Folkestone (West) to arrive in time for the taxi at 11.30 which will take us to Terlingham Vineyard, a boutique producer making unique artisanal wines.

I have organised a private vineyard tour and tasting for us in our own wine gazebo (with plenty of space and fresh air around us!) complemented by a cheese board, a selection of crusty bread and finished off with a slice of their homemade cake all safely prepared and served.

The vineyard is located on a gorgeous south-facing slope on the Kent North Downs, with fabulous views over the Channel. With just four acres of vines they make just a few thousand bottles a year using only natural farming techniques (no artificial fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides!) and the lovely South African family of five does everything…..by hand.

Afterwards a taxi will drop us in Folkestone town which has the largest urban outdoor collection of contemporary art in the UK including such artists as Anthony Gormley, Tracey Emin & Yoko Ono; we can embark on an jaunt together, think a treasure hunt of art and you won’t be far wrong………!

You can stay for as long as you wish before choosing when to catch your train home.

Cost £57.50 per person

Price includes private vineyard tour, tasting and lunch (as described) taxi transfers, guiding and MeetUp fee (it does not include the train ticket).

Places are limited to no more than 12 people.

Payment in advance only - please contact me for payment details

* Please note that the walk down into the vineyard is about 500m along a country track, so please wear appropriate footwear and if anyone has mobility issues, please let me know and we can arrange transport to the tasting barn.

I am planning to take the 10.37 from St Pancras (arriving Folkestone West at 11.28) and returning on the 19.02 (though you could choose to return anytime). I intend buying a Super Off Peak Day Return to keep the return flexible.
