Guided Food Safari of Chinatown
Chinese New Year is fast approaching and we should help celebrate by strolling the streets of Chinatown to see and sample some of their delights.
A Chinatown has existed in London since the early 18th Century. The original Chinatown was located in London's East End and only since the 1950’s has it been in its’ present location.
Now, not only is it a major culinary destination, home to more than 80 different Asian restaurants, cafes and bars, not to mention Chinese food shops, bakeries, souvenir stores, and even reflexology and traditional Chinese medicine experts. There are also many shops stocked full of authentic and exotic ingredients not normally found outside Asia.
The rest of the Far East is also represented – with Korean, Taiwanese, Malaysian & Japanese delights also on offer……… from dumplings to doughnuts!
So let’s explore this neighbourhood together to glean a true flavour of Chinese culture in the heart of London with a view to stopping at a few strategically arranged locations for an optional opportunity to buy and taste some treats of your choice.
Places are limited to 12 people so please contact me directly after RSVP’ing as payment is in advance only and will be requested immediately.
Cost: £11.50 per person for the MeetUp fee and guided tour (food/drink costs are extra)
Meet at 11am outside Leicester Square Underground Station (outside the Hippodrome Casino), on Wednesday 6th February.
