Historical WORLD heritage in Halifax 4 days, 3 nights

After breakfast, we will visit several local historical and world famous sites.   Piece Hall, Halifax Minster and so much more....

 

Thursday: Heritage History day out:

 

We will visit during our time in Halifax,

 

Bingley 5 locks rise - The five-rise is the steepest flight of locks in the UK and has a lock-keeper. Beautiful walk alongside the canal with the restored factories in view on the horizon...

 

UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE - Salts Mill - SALTAIRE - The Mill and surrounding town of Saltaire was financed and built by the 19th century industrialist and philanthropist Sir Titus Salt after he observed other textile factories and was disappointed by the working conditions he saw there.

 

SHIBDEN HALL - 1420

For 300 years (c. 1615–1926) the Shibden estate was in the hands of the Lister family, wealthy mill-owners and cloth merchants, the most famous resident being Anne Lister (1791–1840), who became sole owner of the hall after the death of her aunt.

Friday: After breakfast free day to chose where you’d like to go and many possibilities will be presented
