Wonderful WELLS - England's smallest City- 3 days

Tuesday 5th October

Dept. London on the  10.35 train from Paddington

Arr. Castle Cary 12.13

 

A MINIBUS will be at the station to take us to the Swan hotel opposite the cathedral in Wells city centre…(included)

 

Arr. about 12.50

 

For those who would like to unpack later and forgo an immediate lunch, there is a lunchtime concert if we arrive on time.

13.05 Lunchtime classical concert by the Wells Cathedral specialist musicians

 

After unpacking in your own double ensuite, let’s have  a snack together.

15.45 - 17.15 - (included) Wells Guide will show us around the area to tell us about Wells, it’s legacy and its history.

 

19.00 - Supper  and social together in a local pub restaurant…..a further chance to stroll round the City and see anything that the guide left out!.

 

Wednesday 6th October

08.00  Breakfast 

After breakfast, local 5 mile walk to take in Milton Combe Lodge and Gardens, local history, views and more…incl. entry

Lots to see, so we will be out most of the day….walking boots required!

 

 

Evening 3 course dinner in hotel together   (Included)

After dinner games and social!

 

 

 

Thursday 7th October

08.00 Breakfast

Free morning….but I will lead a local walk for those who wish to join me. 

We are surrounded by the Mendips and depending on weather, will show you another aspect of the surrounding area.

 

 

13.05  Lunchtime concert (for those who’d like to enjoy again or for the first time) Included 

 

14.30 Minibus takes us to Castle Cary for return to London on 15.14 to  Waterloo or if you fancy, leave a little later at 15.30 for the 16.23 to Paddington

 

£397 per person - single occupancy of a double room with breakfasts, dinner, guided walks and concerts...
