5 days Dorset and Somerset; castles, stately homes and beautiful walks

Another chance to enjoy this beautiful part of the country:

We will be staying in the grounds of a beautiful Stately Home, Brympton House, just 2 miles from Yeovil in Somerset

The accommodation is surrounded by lovely gardens, a lake and stunning country-side.

Every day we will go and enjoy a little bit of Somerset or Dorset and there will be a little bit of everything to suit all tastes

Monday:
Dept from Waterloo 13.20 to arrive at Yeovil Junction 15.38

Arrival Yeovil Junction - transfer to our accommodation to arrive about 16.00

Afternoon free to roam around the grounds of Brympton House

Evening meal together: menu choices will be sent out for you to chose from including vegetarian

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

The programme can change according to weather but I will be showing you the following:

- Day in Montacute with the chance to go round the dinky village and the National Trust Stately home. Camelot country
For those who are able and willing, I will lead a 6 mile circular walk around the village whilst the others explore

We will enjoy a late lunch together in the village in a lovely olde world pub

- East Coker, home to the famous poet TS Elliot
We will visit the church where he was buried, stroll round the village with its array of beautiful houses, 17th century almshouses, and stroll a few miles to the farm shop for afternoon tea.
Monarch trail, where King Charles walked over 600 miles hiding to escape from Oliver Cromwell!
West Coker with its fascinating history of sail making and more...!!!
5-course supper included in Victorian Twine works

- Day in Sherborne, over the border in Dorset with its 2 castles, quaint high street and many tea shops….wonderful abbey, as well as the famous private Sherborne school where many films have been made.
Again, for those willing and up for it, I will take us for a 5 mile circular walk around the castle estate

There are a variety of fabulous old pubs in and around the town, so we can end up for a late lunch in one of them

The B&B we are saying in provides evening snacks, drinks and games tables etc. so we can enjoy fun evenings together

Friday:

Departure at 12.29 from Yeovil Junction to go back to London Waterloo which arrives at 14.49 before the Friday rush hour!
