3 days ancient Kent coastline walking with Dee. Stay in a 4* Hotel by the sea

Kent, one of the kingdoms of Anglo-Saxon England, is famous as the site of the first landing of Anglo-Saxon settlers in Britain and as the kingdom that received the first Roman mission to the Anglo-Saxons.

The coastline is varied and interesting. The history rich as is the food!

We will be based in a fabulous 4* hotel yards from the famous Leas in the Burlington so that at the end of each day we can relax in lovely surroundings and enjoy the sunsets before us.

We'll start each day with sumptuous breakfasts that should last us a long time!!

Tuesday 18th October:
Arrive at Folkestone Central either on the 11.20 or 11.30 train
The fast train leaves from St Pancras via Stratford or you have the train from Waterloo East and London Bridge which is 30 minutes longer

You will be escorted to your hotel about 10 minutes walk away.

We will have time to relax, change and we can set off for a circular 6 mile walk up onto the white cliffs above Folkestone towards Dover....and enjoy the famous and very special Battle of Britain Centre and museum.

3 course Dinner together in the hotel

Wednesday 20th October: Deal and Sandwich linear walk 8 miles

9.30 After breakfast, we will take the train to Walmer Castle (English Heritage) , and then walk along the beach to Deal with another beautiful English heritage castle.
From Deal we'll head along the coast and walk inland through the very famous St. George Lynx golf course to the medieval town of Sandwich on the river Stour in time to see the stunning Guildhall and visit the town.

Train back to Folkestone
