New Forest Weekend - Autumn colours, mists and mellow...

A real opportunity to explore one of the unspoilt gems of the South of England.
We will meet on Saturday morning in Lyndhurst and after depositing our bags at our accommodation we'll head out to explore the ancient Oak woodlands that have been carefully managed by the locals for over a thousand years. We will head north and explore the immaculate landscape of Acres Down. Rarely visited by tourists this site houses a rich diversity of plant, animal and bird life. We will walk from Acres Down over to the Bolderwood Deer sanctuary where we should be able to get uninterrupted views of the herds of Fallow and Sika deer that breed in the area.
Dropping back down toward our accommodation we will pass through the New Forest Reptile Centre where we might be able to see each of this country's snake and lizard species.
There are a number of excellent restaurants and pubs in and around Lyndhurst and I'm sure there will be much discussion in the lead up to the event regarding the venue for our Saturday evening dinner.
On Sunday we will head out to Godshill near Fordingbridge and walk back to Lyndhurst. I am not going to include too many details of the route on here for a variety of very good reasons. Suffice to say the walk will be a blend of incredible New Forest heathland walking with a fair but of interesting recent history thrown into the mix. We may even venture onto one of the many New Forest bogs. Nothing to worry about but the bogland does occasionally throw up some incredible photographic opportunities.
Sunday's event will be very much driven by the group. We could drop cars at a location further north, bring the drivers back and take a linear walk or quite easily plan a circular walk to finish at our accommodation. Whatever we choose, the day will be memorable and will leave you desperate to return.

Bed and Breakfast Saturday into Sunday
Two days of guided walks
(If you would like to stay longer or arrive on Friday night, please let me know - rooms will be available)

All rooms are twin en suite and attract a single occupancy supplement. If you could share a room this would obviously reduce the cost of the extra night accommodation costs.

Does not include lunch or evening meals.

Once you have notified me off your interest I will facilitate discussion around car share, station pickups and any other details that are not really appropriate for debate on the message board.

As ever please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss details or concerns.

I anticipate walking for about 5 hours per day. We will walk at a steady rate but WILL NOT be pushing the pace. The whole point of my events is that you get the chance to enjoy the surroundings and take your time to fully appreciate what is around you at your own pace.

REFUNDS.

You will not be regarded as ‘attending’ any multi day event until you have paid a deposit or if required, paid in full. If you have paid for an event - either a deposit or have paid in full, I am afraid we cannot refund any monies paid. The event was booked, confirmed and paid for by us on the understanding that a number of people would be attending and that they had all paid or had indicated that they would be paying in full.

You can however, arrange a replacement to take your place. If you do find a replacement it is NOT acceptable for you to sell your space to the person replacing you, for a price exceeding the price you originally paid.

When you have found a replacement simply email confirmation providing the persons contact details – email/mobile phone number/full name. Once that person has paid in full for the event, you will immediately be reimbursed.

Lyndhurst town centre - follow M3 onto M27 for Bournemouth. Take the A337 for Lyndhurst. About 1 hour and 10 minutes from M25 junction with M3. Train to Brockenhurst from Waterloo - Contact me upon arrival and I will collect you from the station.
