A RIGHT ROYAL BREAK IN BEAUTIFUL NORTH NORFOLK – with Lits

Royal Estates, Historic Halls, Beaches, Birds, Seals & Sand Dunes

North Norfolk has a history of royal connections stretching back hundreds of years so with all the on-going royal shenanigans perhaps it is time we joined them.

Let’s pay a visit to the Sandringham Estate, the much loved country retreat of our beloved late HM the Queen and to Holkham Hall, an 18th century Palladian masterpiece, home to the Earl of Leicester, with arguably one of the best beaches in England.

We will stay in a characterful four-star beach-side hotel, positioned a stone’s throw from the sea in Old Hunstanton: a traditional Victorian seaside town famous for its’ unique red and white striped cliffs, traditional pubs and car-stone cottages. Also sitting at the beginning of the Norfolk Coastal Path, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of the few places on the east coast where the sun can be seen setting over the sea.

A perfect setting for a mid-summer celebration together…….

THE PLAN:

Sunday 25th June
To meet at London St Pancras and take the train to Kings Lynn from where we will take the bus to Old Hunstanton, our base for two nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
After checking in early afternoon, we will explore our local surroundings with a circular walk around the town and perhaps even a seal safari.
We will enjoy dinner together at the hotel.

Monday 26th June
We will set off after breakfast and take the bus for a day out to Holkham - the small village boasts the magnificent stately home Holkham Hall where we will have own tickets to hand to discover the House itself (and gardens). With time later to wander around to the beautiful beach, properly known as Holkham Gap, and the Holkham National Nature Reserve with its’ windswept tide lines, miles of dunes and maze of creeks. Returning to our hotel in Old Hunstanton for our evening meal together.

Tuesday 27th June
After breakfast we will take a bus to the Sandringham Estate for a visit to Sandringham House, surrounded by its’ beautiful gardens and parkland and St Mary Magdalene Church.
Hopping back on the bus to Kings Lynn later afternoon for our return train to London.

* This is a limited opportunity as it is a very popular place and the rooms can't be held for long

Includes: 2 x nights bed, breakfast in a four-star hotel (single occupancy/ensuite room), 2 x evening meals, bus transport, entrance tickets to Holkham Hall and the Sandringham Estate and full services of an experienced 45Not Grumpy leader.

Not included: Train fare London/Kings Lynn, lunches and personal expenses.
