Let’s get away from the grey, dark days… and enjoy our thriving 45+ Community in southern Spain.

This is not a holiday led by a tour guide with a fixed schedule. This is a communal get-away. I thought after much feedback that this would be a good chance to try something new.

It’s a chance to relax, breathe fresh air, engage with the local culture and do all those things we never quite get around to. We’ll take it in turns to cook, go down to the market, suggest an activity, or simply chat over a bottle of vino.

Whatever you like to do, it would provide the venue to do it.
If you like to write, bring out your pads and pencils. If you like to paint, bring out your paints, if you like to read, bring out your books….and of course, anything else you fancy doing.

The get-away will be open for 5-weeks between January - March . I suggest a week minimum stay, but you can stay for the whole 5 weeks.
The longer you stay the cheaper it is and the more you save from your electricity bills back home!

We will be staying in a terrace of cottages built by the village and everyone will have their own room. Each cottage only has 2 rooms, a twin and a double. The cottages are fully equipped and large enough for everyone to have enough space to be private.

Easy jet flies direct on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We’ll pick you up from the airport, which is included in the price as well as lifts to Tabernas every Wednesday for the market and once a week, all day to Almeria to enjoy the city.

Includes airport transfers, Wednesday transfers to Tabernas, transfer to Almeria for day,

Self-catering cottages which have one double and one twin bedroom have:

* washing machine large lounge/diner

* fully equipped kitchen bathroom with toilet and separate toilet room

* central heating Log fires (NB Logs not included)

I’ll be walking nearly every day and anyone is welcome to join me but you will need proper hiking boots.

* There’ll be a chance to learn Spanish…

* Cards, board games, quizes, discussions

* The village has a new outdoor gym overlooking the valley for us to enjoy fun exercises

* We could take it in turns to play host and cook for each other!

* On Wednesdays, there’s a weekly market in the local town of Tabernas - package includes transport there and back

* All-day outing to Almeria - there’s so much to see; the moorish castle (Alcazaba) and Cathedral ,museums, the beach, galleries, markets, etc. - transport to and from Almeria once a week included

* There’s a wonderful Spa and hammam in Almeria we could go to which also offers massage treatments.

* I love watching films together especially ones shot locally and there are lots of those!

* Wine-tasting at a local Bodega

Day in Guadix (troglodyte city)
Day in the Nijar National Park
