Navigation Training - Chiltern Hills

The National Navigation Awards Scheme (NNAS) provides an in depth, structured approach to the development of navigation skills. Participants will learn to effectively use a map, supported by a compass, in a range of settings that will given them the knowledge and understanding to be able find their way confidently in lowland terrain.

This weekend will take place in and around the Chiltern Hills near Stokenchurch. The area we will be operating in is incredibly beautiful chalk hills teeming with wildlife. We will be operating well away from routes used by other walking groups and I should be able to introduce you to one or two hidden gems. The objective for the weekend is not necessarily to walk for a long distance, but to develop an understanding of finer navigation skills and how to plan and effectively manage a simple route.

You will be sent pre course information and a kit list.

Please do not feel that you need to buy any extra kit prior to the course, Whatever you normally go walking in will, i'm sure, be fine. Maps and compasses will be provided.
