Snowdonia Weekend - Snowdon Horseshoe and Waterfalls

Snowdonia Weekend - Snowdon Horseshoe and Waterfalls

A mountain walking weekend that should be accessible for most. We will stay in the Rocks Hostel in Capel Curig, (www.therockshostel.com) widely regarded as one of the most sought after hostels in Wales. Arriving on Friday we will settle in and meet for a pre adventure meal in the Tyn Y Coed Inn just down the road.

On Saturday we will make our way down to Pen Y Pas and join the trail of one of the paths heading up to Snowdon, or we could head up to Snowdon via one of the many other paths that are easily accessible. The route we take will be dependent upon the experience and fitness of the group and our descent will be via the return leg of the 'Snowdon Horseshoe' - a fairly lengthy and challenging walk.

I am not going to dictate the itinerary for Sunday - that's up to you.
We have an option of exploring Moel Siabod a stunning mountain right outside the hostel, surrounded by overgrown quarry workings that are now home to an amazing array of wildlife.
Crimpiau is another peak to the rear of the hostel with a stunning approach and a nature reserve behind it.

Once I know who is committed we will meet a month or so before the event to discuss the final itinerary.

This weekend is unsuitable for those who are unfit or inexperienced hill walkers. Having said that I welcome anybody regardless of experience but you must understand that if at any time you feel you cannot continue with our walk, you will have to make your own way back to the start point, probably unaccompanied.

Whilst the walking will be led by me and my activities will be covered by my insurance policies, I strongly recommend that you take out your own insurance for this trip - www.thebmc.co.uk/insurance. If any of you wish to examine my insurance policies I am happy to mail them to you

The cost of the weekend will be £152. Included are two nights accommodation - room only, at The Rocks in shared rooms (Four or six people per room), and two days guiding in the locations mentioned.

Not included is travel to and from Capel Curig and meals. The hostel is self catering but there is an exceptional cafe just along the road which is good for meals throughout the day. Evening meals are available from various pubs/restaurants in the area

If you wish to join us for the walking but would like to source your own accommodation, that's fine but please let me know. Strongly recommend that if you do want to take this option, that your accommodation is in or very close to Capel Curig.

To secure your place on this weekend I will need payment in full (£152) please to:
