Hi everyone,

I've been prescribed Roche Accutane for severe acne and was wondering where the best place to buy it would be. I have a prescription from my dermatologist but am a bit confused about where to go next. Any advice?

Hi HealingHands789,

First of all, congratulations on taking the step towards clearer skin! For Roche Accutane (Isotretinoin), it's important to buy from a reputable pharmacy. Since it’s a prescription drug, you can only get it through pharmacies that accept prescriptions.

Here are some options:1. Local Pharmacies: Most local pharmacies should be able to fill your prescription if they stock the medication. Call ahead to confirm.2. Mail-Order Pharmacies: Some pharmacies offer mail-order services where you can order online and have the medicine shipped directly to you.3. Specialty Pharmacies: These are pharmacies that specialize in certain types of medications, including dermatological drugs like Accutane.

Be very careful with online pharmacies; only use ones that require a prescription and are licensed and verified.

Thanks for the quick response, SunShineRx!

I actually live in an area where local pharmacies may not stock Roche Accutane. Are there any specific mail-order pharmacies you would recommend?

Hi HealingHands789,

SunShineRx gave great advice. If local pharmacies don’t have it or if you prefer the convenience of home delivery, here are a few reputable mail-order pharmacies:

  • CVS Pharmacy: They offer mail-order services and can fill your prescription.
  • Walgreens: Similar to CVS, they also provide mail-order services.
  • Blink Health: A bit more cost-effective; they negotiate prices with many pharmacies.

When using any of these, make sure you have a valid prescription from your dermatologist. You might need to submit the prescription details online or by uploading an image of it.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, MedicalMaven56 and SunShineRx! I'll check out CVS Pharmacy's mail-order service first.

Just one more question—do you know if there are any side effects I should be aware of while taking Roche Accutane?

Hello HealingHands789,

As a doctor, it’s important to know that Isotretinoin (Roche Accutane) can have some significant side effects. Common ones include:- Dry skin, lips, and eyes- Nosebleeds- Changes in vision or dryness- Joint pain

Serious side effects could involve depression, severe mood changes, or liver problems. It is crucial to have regular follow-ups with your dermatologist during the treatment period.

Also, Isotretinoin can cause birth defects if taken by pregnant women, so it’s essential for females of reproductive age to use effective contraception while on this medication and for at least one month after finishing the course.

Always consult with your healthcare provider about any concerns you have before starting or continuing with your treatment.

Thank you so much, DocOnDuty! This information is incredibly helpful. I will definitely discuss these potential side effects in more detail with my dermatologist at our next appointment.

I appreciate everyone's input and am feeling a bit better informed now about how to proceed with getting Roche Accutane.
