Join me on this scenic walk from Kingston Bridge along the riverside to the stunning Hampton Court Palace. You will see many moored barges along the riverside, pass Islands and observe many grand houses while enjoying the wildlife of the Thames, before reaching the magnificent, stunning, Hampton Court Palace. The Palace was originally built by Cardinal Wolsey in 1514, until Henry V111 acquired ownership in 1529.
We will take lunch in Hampton Court Village with it old worldly charm and range of Independent shops, Pubs, cafes and restaurants. There will be time to browse the shops.
After lunch the walk will commence to Bushy Park, soon arriving at the magnificent iconic Chestnut Avenue Vista leading to the Diana Fountain. The spectacular Fountain was designed by Sir Christopher Wren in the 17th Century. The statue and water feature of the Roman Goddess Diana is surrounded by bronzes of four boys, four water nymphs and four shells.
The walk will then commence through Bushy Deer Park onto the picturesque Heron and Leg-Of-Mutton Ponds with their abundance of wildlife surrounded by woods and fields before reaching Kingston Bridge. The walk will finish at Kingston Station.
