Walk with Di-Queen Elizabeth Park to Springfield Park Towpath Walk

11:00 Starbucks Westfield Stratford I will have a sign, my mobile is 07943958964

11:20 We will walk the short distance to the revamped big green shed (The View Tube), which was the viewing platform for the building of the Olympic Park for another coffee!! From there we join the Greenway for an enjoyable walk along the Lee Valley Navigation canal with a lovely mixture of old and new businesses and housing and the varied houseboats moored along the towpath.

There will be an option to detour through Wick Woodland, returning to the towpath, and a visit Middlesex Filter Beds Nature Reserve and walk alongside Hackney Marshes.

We will stop at just over half way at The Princess of Wales situated on Lea Bridge Road with a terrace on the towpath, for lunch and a well-earned drink and watch the world go by for a while.

From here we continue the short distance to our destination where we leave the towpath and make our way into Springfield Park, there is a stiff climb up to the café for a drink and comfort stop before heading home via Upper Clapton Road, with transport links homeward via bus and Clapton Station (overground).

There is a £5 charge for the walk payable on the day
