ometimes referred to as Shakespeare's playground with its pubs, bear-baiting and theatres, this area is used to be London's red-light district in the Medieval and Tudor periods, alongside which the watermen (taxi drivers of those days) plied their trade - not always honestly! . Much cleaned up today it's still an exciting area of entertainment, foodie delights and still a few pubs.
As for red lights.....well...... i wouldn't know about that! You'll meet Shakespeare , Chaucer and Dickens on this one too - not literally, of course!

We finish near Borough Market and can grab at a drink and a snack in an authentic Elizabethan tavern.
