Wapping to Waterloo

Wapping to Waterloo

Join me on a walk from Wapping High St - We will meet in Urban Barista at 10.45am which is just outside the station - turn right and it's 2 doors down. A local guide will be with me, giving you some history on the area.

We'll leave promptly at 11.15 am and walk towards the Prospect of Whitby, along Wapping High St.

We will then cross over the once-notorious Ratcliffe Highway - which in 1811, was the biggest London murder crime scene and has now been re-named the Highway. Then along Cable Street, Shadwell, which has an unusual mix of beautiful Georgian terraces and 60's style estates .We'll pop into St George's Gardens, where the Cable St riots mural can be seen on the side of the Town Hall

It's also home to the mortuary used during the Jack the Ripper Murders of 1888.

Further along is the only music Hall left in London, the beautiful, Wilton's.

We will then walk over tower bridge and walk along The River Thames

and to the Southbank to Gabriel's Wharf which is arguably one of the most stunning streets in London. With its beautifully preserved Georgian Terraces, it's often used in TV dramas.

You'll get a chance to visit one of the most attractive independent cake shops-Konditor and cook, which is situated on the corner of Roupell St.

We will have a late lunch at The Wellington Pub opposite Waterloo Station. Please advise if you want lunch.

The distance of this walk is approx 3-4 miles Cost £5
