Walthamstow Wetlands to Stratford via the Olympic Park

Come with me, on an varied and picturesque walk from Walthamstow Wetlands to Stratford via the Olympice Park, walking distance 7 miles approx.

We will meet at 11.00 am at The Larder at Walthamstow Wetlands { image above} for a hot drink.

{To get there go to Tottenham Hale Tube station, come out and turn left, then left again into Forest Road and, when you reach the Ferry House pub on the left, cross the road and follow the signs to the Engine House Cafe.}

After our drink at at 11.20 am we will walk along a path through the wetlands where there will be opportunity to take photographs. A few bridges and paths later we will reach The Princess of Wales Pub at Clapton on the River Lea where we will have lunch (please let me know if you want lunch) or you can bring your own.

After lunch we will continue walking between the River Lea and Walthamstow Marshes and then find our way to the Olympic Park in a rather ingenious way where will stop at the Timber Lodge Cafe for another hot drink.

After the cafe visit we will make our way via the London Stadium to Stratford Station, with National Rail, underground and buses.

If you have a knee problem or walk slow this walk is not for you.
We will be doing a lot of climbing through woods and on paths.
