Historian Paul Sinclair leads Walk 4 in the Docks: Rotherhithe

Our fourth walk in our series looking at the rise and fall of London's docks.

Rotherhithe was the heart of the East India Company developed from the 1600s. We'll see the schools where they educated their children, the church where they prayed for a safe passage, Jacob's Island where Oliver Twist was set, the miniscule royal manor house and hear two tear jerking stories of great sacrifice, finally a look at the Mayflower's journey to the Americas, the remarkable challenges they faced and why the ship was full of pairs of shoes.

My number is 07815009191 and our first stop is the corner of Scott Lidgett Crescent and Bevington Street.
