Day out in ancient Rye Port- celebrating visit of Queen Elizabeth 450 years ago

Join us on Saturday 12th August for a Grand royal procession in Rye celebrating the 450th anniversary of the visit of Queen Elizabeth I with a spectacular day of events on Saturday August 12.
Hightlights of the day:
- * Ryebellion Drummers, The Sing it Out choir, the Harbour Herrings shanty group and Tony Pape’s Madrigal Singers, who are reforming especially for the day.
- * A Royal procession, several re-enactments of historical events, singing, and a performance of Much Ado About Nothing by Rye Players in the gardens
- * Sheppey Pirates who will mark the occasion by firing cannon from the Gun Gardens.
