London's lost rivers: The Fleet and the Walbrook

We will be looking at two rivers that used to flow through central London and walking part of the routes. We will discover their fascinating stories and the importance of these rivers to London life and how they became open sewers. Jonathan Swift wrote about the Fleet: “Drown'd Puppies, stinking Sprats, all drench'd in Mud...”

We will uncover the mystery of the severed heads of the Walbrook and learn about the temple built on its banks with a sculpture installation in memory of the Walbrook. All this and much more so please join me for a fun and friendly afternoon.
