Leafy Chiswick then along the Thames to Kew Bridge

Leafy Chiswick then along the Thames to Kew Bridge

Join me for a lovely walk starting at Turnham Green station (on the District line) exploring one of London’s greenest suburbs.

The meeting point is The Trinity Cafe at 10.45am, leaving at 11.15am {come out of Turnham Green station, turn right and walk just a few 100 yards the cafe is on the corner.}

We will walk through a Common, a Green, a Gardens and a cemetery before reaching charming Old Chiswick by the Thames. After a pub lunch {please confirrm if you want lunch} at a pub near the Fuller’s brewery (or bring your own to eat outdoors), we embark on a long loop of the river familiar to fans of the Oxbridge Boat Race. Looking across to Barnes, Mortlake and Kew on the opposite bank, we find our way past meadows, sports fields and boathouses, a world away from the bustling streets earlier. After a total walk of about 6 miles, our finishing point is an excellent multi-roomed pub by Kew Bridge, which has a spacious attractive garden if the weather is kind to us. Next-door are Kew Bridge station and bus routes heading back to Turnham Green and beyond. If you walk slow or have a knee problem this walk is not for you.

Meet up fee is £5 payable on arrival, please ring Paul on 07530 675739 {this is not a smart phone} if you need more info. For this walk it is advisable to wear walking boots, in the event it has or is raining this walk may be cancelled.
