The Bombing of London - walking tour with Blue Badge guide Laurence

Meet 11-11.15 at the bottom of the steps outside the Royal Exchange - near Bank Station
Fee - £12
The bombing of London during World War Two, known as the Blitz, brought devastation to families and neighbourhoods all over London - and other cities too - killing tens of thousands and bringing damage or destruction to millions of buildings.
But the people of London had hope......and kept their sense of humour.
We will visit areas of the city that were bombed(most of it was), wonder at the survival of some of its buildings ( a miracle St Paul's survived) and discover how Londoners sheltered from the attacks
It is , of course, a tragic story but , as mentioned earlier, Londoners kept their sense of humour and you will hear about some of the more - and i use the expression, I hope, sensitively - 'light-hearted' moments too.
Please note that at traffic lights i will always wait for the green man signal- if there is one -and that at other crossings and on the streets generally attendees need to be vigilant.
