Mid week with Di - East End Walk Ragged School

Mid week with Di - East End Walk Ragged School

11:00 meet at Costa coffee shop under the Green Bridge where we will have a chance to chat.

11:30 crossing Mile End Park we will walk to the Ragged School Museum in Copperfield Rd and have time to look around, the volunteer staff here are exceptionally knowledgeable.

12:30 from here we will cross the canal and walk to St Dunstan and All Saints Church known as Church of the High Seas which flies a red ensign flag and we should be able to talk to the volunteers who keep the church open. Its ten bells ring out, when will that be say the bells of Stepney, in the well known children's Oranges and Lemons nursery rhyme.

1:00 from here we will pass into Stepney Green Park passing Stepping Stones Farm and walking along the path with cityscape views onto blue-cobbled Garden Street. Then cross the Green passing no. 37 an imposing Queen Anne house built in 1692 with a fine scallop shell over the front door, venue for the home of Tom Hardy in Taboo. 1:30ish arriving at The Half Moon for lunch.

There will be a £5 charge for the day, please change your rsvp if you find you are unable to attend.
