Hidden away behind the throng of the West End this wonderful little village is also littered with some incredible sights, worthy of the best that London has to offer.It has one of the most magnificent art galleries, a couple of glorious churches and a statue of a fictional character some thought was real....not the statue, the character!Like all of London's areas it has, of course, had its edgy moments too- a pleasure garden which could turn unpleasant and a famous bank theft - no, they didnt steal the bank.....!Add to this a magnifcent station - one of the first - and a hotel which never became a hotel but was lived in by HG Wells.
