The Old Commercial Docks Trail. A history of Rotherhithe & the regeneration

CANADA WATER TUBE: Come along and join me (Paul) on a walk around the old Surrey commercial docks. Visit the historic cobbled Streets of Old Rotherhithe, a city farm, the beautiful Eco park and get a 360 degree view of London.

THE WALK WILL GO AHEAD WHATEVER THE WEATHER. BE SURE TO WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES.

We will meet at 10.45 am in the Canada Water Library café (for coffee). This is a few seconds from the Station - go through the ticket barrier, walk forward, then turn left and take the stairs straight in front of you. Cross over the main road to a large square, the library café is on your right.. Do contact me via my mobile below, if you get stuck.

At 11.15am we will walk to Rotherhithe, along cobbled streets to St Mary's Church which is surrounded by beautiful historic buildings, including the Watch House {see pic}

then past the Mayflower pub and Brunel Museum to Stave Hill {see image below}

Standing at the top - you get a 360 degree view of London (a great place to watch the New Years Eve fireworks). From there, it is a short walk to the Ecological Park - which is home to all kinds of wildlife including Heron, Mallard, Coots and Moorhens. {see pics of ecological park}

It's then a short walk to Surrey Docks Farm - You will be able to meet the goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs, ducks, ferrets and a Shetland pony, amongst others.

We will have our packed lunch at the farm or use the café there, then make our way to The Salt Quays Pub for a drink, with Rotherhithe Overground Station being a few minutes walk away or Canada Water Station {Overground & Jubilee Line } 10 mins.

If you need any more information phone or text Paul on 07530 675739 {this is not a smart phone.
