Eight Walks Along the Thames: Kennington Paul Sinclair
This is one of the oldest photos in the world. taken on Kennington Common it shows the Chartists assembling before their unsuccessful march on parliament to press for amongst other things one vote for each man. We'll visit this historic site and hear the story then to Surrey's answer to Tyburn, see a Henry Moore on a council estate, find out why the Oval is the shape it is and how many palm trees can grow here in the UK. All this and much more.
Meet at 1 pm, set off at 1.30. My number is 07815009191 and the first stop is the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens.
