Historian Paul Sinclair takes a stroll around Chelsea
We meet at 10.45 and set off at 11.15 at the basement cafe of the Royal Court Theatre.
A chance to see where Sir Thomas More started his last journey, where Elizabeth I lived for a while, where Turner painted many of his famous sunsets, where the Chelsea Pensioners live (who are they and why are they here?), Mary Quant's shop and why it was significant, the Hugenot mansion still standing and one shop where you could buy the best toilet in the land and another which delivered its goods by women on scooters dressed in purple.
All this and optional lunch to follow.
First stop is the Royal Chelsea Hospital and my number is 07815009191.
If you see unpaid by your name, take no notice.
