Historical City Stroll via the Barbican. Paul
Come with me and a local guide, who will share some of the history of this wonderful part of the Capital.
We will meet at Cafe Rouge, Hays Galleria London Bridge at 10.45 (leave via the Duke Street Hill exit of London Bridge Station - the Galleria is off Tooley St across the road from the station).
We will then walk across London Bridge to Gracechurch St and the beautiful, Leadenhall. We will walk around the London Wall, taking in the juxtaposition of old and new.
We will stop for lunch at the Barbican centre, which has a restaurant, coffee shops, free galleries (if the weather isn't good, we can also visit the Museum of London). There are a few steps up to the Barbican walkway, so please wear comfortable shoes.
After lunch, we will carry on to the Charterhouse and Smithfield area, passing the most haunted pub in the UK (alledgedly).
The walk is a loop around the city, so we will end up back at London Bridge {Cafe Rouge} (we will also pass Cannon St, if that's more convenient for anyone).
With London Bridge Station being less than 2 minutes away.
The walk is around 3-4 miles. We will finish at approx 3 pm.
The cost is £5 for this walk, please pay cash on the day.
