Tim's history of London walk 9, Victorian London

Tim's history of London walk 9, Victorian London

We will meet for a chat and coffee in the Pret near South Kensington tube before starting walking at 11 am and we'll end for lunch at around 1-1.30.
I PROMISE IT WILL NOT RAIN!

London in the mid nineteenth century was by far the greatest, richest and largest city in the western world. It lay at the centre of the British empire on which the sun never set. The Victorians embarked on a massive rebuilding and expansion of London often following the new railways that brought suburbia to the city. On this walk we will look at some of the great monuments the Victorians left us.
