Walking the Wandle Trail Colliers Wood to The Thames at Wandsworth Part2

Come and join me and Keith on a lovely 6 mile walk following the River Wandle starting at the M&S Cafe near Colliers Wood Tube Station and ending up at the Rocket Pub, Putney Bridge.

£5 meet up fee payable on arrival {please have the right change}

This is Part 2 of the Wandle Trail.

We will meet at the M&S Cafe in the shopping mall of Merton High Street at 10.30 am for coffee and will start our walk at 11.00 am.

{To get to the Cafe,, you come out of Colliers Wood Station, and walk straight along the high street, cross over the traffic lights, and keep walking till you see the shopping mall on your left, walk over the bridge into the shopping mall go up the escalator and the Café is on the right inside M&S at the top of the escalator.}

From the Cafe we head north along the banks of the River Wandle to where the Wandle joins the River Thames at Wandsworth

We will then walk along the Thames Path to Putney Bridge, finishing at the Rocket Pub for lunch.

The route goes through Wandle Park and the Wandle Meadow Nature Reserve, passing Earlsfield, where we stop for a refreshment and toilet stop at the Wandle Tavern.

Rejoining the banks of the river, we go through King Georges Park to reach the River Thames at Wandsworth Plain before following the Thames Path to Putney Bridge

If is advisable to wear walking boots, as some of the paths can get quite muddy, and if you have a knee problem or walk slow this walk is definitely not for you.

Total walking distance approx 5 miles.

With Putney {South Western Rail} and Putney Bridge {Districe Line} being less than 10 minutes walk away.

If you have a knee problem or walk slow this walk is not for you.

Please advise me at least 24 hrs before, so some one else can take your place.
