Filthy River and its not the Thames! - walk with Blue Badge guide Laurence

Meet under the clock on the concourse outside/in front of entrance to King's Cross Station (NOT St Pancras) @ 11-11.15
Fee £14
The River Fleet might have been filthy but along its route there has also been a spa town, a place of entertainment and housed one of history's most well-known mistresses.....
The Fleet is London's most notorious tributary and we will follow its path from Kings Cross to Blackfriars passing through one of London's most notorious red-light districts, the spot where Oliver Twist gets his apprenticeship as a pickpocket and the sites of three prisons. At one point we will even be able to hear its waters passing beneath our feet.
Laurence Summers is a Blue Badge guide and has been guiding tours since 2004, when he began working for one of London's major open top bus companies, which sparked his interest in London's rich history. Since then he has qualified as a Blue Badge guide -it's like a university degree! -and led groups of all sizes, ages and cultures all over London and the UK.
Have fun, learn lots of stuff and get some exercise!
Meet under the clock outside King's Cross station at 11- 11.15
We will finish close to Fleet St and St Paul's
